My mother taught me to crochet an afghan when I was 10 years old. I finished it when I was 28. I love that the stitches at the base were created by my young hands and the stitches at the top, by my adult hands.
I learned to knit when I was 36. After many tears, tangled skeins, and dropped stitches, I mastered knitting well enough to teach others the satisfying art. Now, I specialize in teaching beginning knitters of all ages.
I received my training in fiber art at The Waldorf School of Garden City where I taught knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and cross stitch to grades one through five.
